The UBC Food Truck Festival is a spring event at the University of British Columbia. It’s part of the popular Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival series. The event brings together a wide selection of food trucks, local makers, and live entertainment in a lively outdoor setting on UBC’s Vancouver campus.
UBC’s Food Truck Festival has quickly become a favourite for students, locals and visitors looking to enjoy street food, discover small businesses, and soak up a festival-style atmosphere close to the ocean and Pacific Spirit Regional Park.
In 2026 the event runs on the Wednesday and Thursday of April 1st and 2nd.

UBC Food Truck Festival
The UBC edition of the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival launches the annual food truck festival season in the Lower Mainland. The event typically spans two days and is open to the public. Attending is an easy and accessible way to experience Vancouver’s food truck scene.

Food Trucks at the UBC Festival
Each year, the UBC Food Truck Festival welcomes a rotating lineup of mobile kitchens serving a wide variety of flavours. Visitors can expect everything from savoury meals to sweet treats, with options inspired by global cuisines and classic comfort foods.
The event showcases culinary vendors specializing in items such as gourmet hot dogs, bao buns, tacos, barbecued meats, mini donuts, ice cream, mac & cheese, and creative fusion dishes. Fresh juices and snack-focused vendors are also part of the mix, making the event appealing for both quick bites and full meals.
The vendor lineup changes annually, but the focus remains on well-known favourites alongside exciting new additions from across Metro Vancouver.
BC Shop Local Marketplace
In addition to food trucks, the UBC event includes a marketplace highlighting local artisans and independent businesses. Shoppers can normally browse handmade gifts, baked goods, candles, bath products, artwork, specialty foods, and other unique items.
The marketplace adds a strong community feel to the festival and offers a great opportunity to support small businesses while discovering new local brands.
Live Entertainment and Festival Atmosphere
Live music and DJ performances are a regular feature of the UBC Food Truck Festival. Entertainment typically runs throughout the event and helps set a relaxed, upbeat mood for visitors as they explore the food and market stalls.
The combination of music, outdoor seating, and campus scenery makes the festival a fun and social experience, whether you’re attending with friends, family or colleagues.
Visit the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival‘s website for full details about the event.
Location on the UBC Campus
The festival takes place outdoors near UBC Commons, close to the AMS Student Nest building. The central campus location makes it easy to access on foot, by bike or via public transit, and it’s well positioned near shops, green spaces and campus landmarks.
