Oktoberfest Events in the Lower Mainland

Oktoberfest is best known for its combination of beer, hearty German dishes, music and dancing. Local celebrations often feature favourites such as sausages, sauerkraut, pretzels and other German-style specialties alongside beer and other craft beverages.

Many events also add live bands, polka music, dancing, beer gardens and themed entertainment to create a lively Bavarian-inspired atmosphere.

Below is information about a number of Oktoberfest and other beer-themed events in the fall.

Harvest Haus

Harvest Haus is one of Vancouver’s larger Oktoberfest-style celebrations. The event brings German food and beer together with live entertainment and a festive party atmosphere at the PNE Forum.

The 2026 celebration takes place on October 2nd and 3rd. Guests can expect German-inspired dishes, beer, music, and entertainment throughout the event.

Oktoberfest at Austria Vancouver Club

The Austria Vancouver Club hosts several Oktoberfest celebrations at its Richmond venue. The events combine traditional food and drinks with music and dancing, creating a distinctly European atmosphere.

The 2026 celebrations are scheduled for September 26th, October 3rd, and October 24th at the Austria Vancouver Club at 5851 Westminster Highway. The events welcome guests interested in German and Austrian-inspired food, beer, and entertainment.

Parallel 49 Oktoberfest

Parallel 49 Brewing Company adds its own brewery twist to Oktoberfest with an extended celebration at its East Vancouver location.

The 2026 event runs from September 17th through October 4th at 1950 Triumph Street in Vancouver. Beer lovers can enjoy seasonal brews alongside German-style food and live entertainment in a brewery setting.

Vancouver’s North Shore Craft Beer Festival

Vancouver’s North Shore Craft Beer Festival is another fall festival worth checking out. Although not officially an Oktoberfest celebration, the series focuses on local beer so it’s a natural addition to the autumn festival calendar.

The 2026 festival runs from October 30th to November 12th, beginning with a launch party at The Pipe Shop in the Shipyards District. Additional activities take place at breweries around the North Shore, providing opportunities to sample local beer while exploring the area’s craft brewing scene.

Brew at the Zoo

Brew at the Zoo offers a different kind of fall food and beverage experience at the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove. While the event is not specifically an Oktoberfest festival, its beer-focused format fits well into the autumn craft beverage season.

The 2026 event takes place on September 12th and features tastings from breweries and cideries along with food, live entertainment, animal programming, and a hop-on-hop-off train.

Oktoberfest for Ridge Meadows Hospice

The Ridge Meadows Hospice Society hosts an Oktoberfest fundraiser in Maple Ridge that puts food at the centre of the evening. The event features a traditional German dinner with vegetarian choices, along with music, dancing, auctions, and a 50/50 draw.

The 2026 celebration takes place on October 23rd at Albion Community Centre. Proceeds support the Ridge Meadows Hospice Society, adding a charitable element to the German-themed evening.

Vancouver Alpen Club Oktoberfest

The Vancouver Alpen Club has traditionally been another destination for Oktoberfest celebrations in Vancouver. Located on Victoria Drive, the cultural organization is known for its German food, beer, wine, and events celebrating European heritage.

The club’s Oktoberfest celebrations typically include German dishes, beverages, music, and dancing for guests 19 and older. Due to renovations, however, the next Oktoberfest event at the venue is expected to take place in 2027 (hopefully, but maybe even later).
